Who is Steph?

 

I was born in South Africa and raised in the UK. My skin has had a lot to say about that. I have had psoriasis since I was five. I still have it. People ask what happened. Nothing happened. This is just my skin and I have mostly made peace with it.

I am also neurodivergent and anxious. I overthink everything and care too much about most things. I know exactly what it feels like to be permanently on edge in your own body. That is not a small thing to know. It is also the reason I am very good at what I do.

I have spent fifteen years working in some of the most demanding places in the industry. QMS Medicosmetics in Chelsea. Aromatherapy Associates in Knightsbridge, including private suites at Liberty London and Fortnum and Mason. CHANEL, where I trained in Paris and opened their treatment rooms at Harrods. A six-room spa in Dubai that I opened from scratch.

I have tried to leave the industry more than once. I am basically a boomerang. I keep coming back and honestly I cannot help myself. Because the truth is it is you. It is the moments in the treatment room. The person who walks in carrying everything and leaves feeling like themselves again. That is not something I can walk away from. I have tried. It does not work.

I am certified in cancer wellness through Wellness for Cancer, which means I can safely treat clients going through cancer and its after effects. It is the work I am most proud of.

Every facial I offer is built around hands-on work. Sculpting, buccal and lymphatic massage are part of how I treat, not extras. The same care goes into every body treatment. One client at a time. Nothing rushed.

My husband believed in this business before I fully did, which says a lot about him and probably something about me too.
